On the 18th January 2016, the kit was packed and the van was set for a small trip into Snowdonia, Weather was looking poor, 40 mph winds, afternoon downpours and lots of overnight wind slab, due to this we planned to head up the route of Pen Yr Ole, the classic scramble path from Ogwen Cottage (Grid ref. SH649603). The route itself is a relatively demanding short walk which shows wonderful views of the Glyders, Carneddau and an overview view of the valleys sharp and structure, from here you can also see the Snowdon massif in clear weather.
Here is a collection of images from the wintery day on the hills. Enjoy
From the 16th May 2014, for 5 weeks I will be personally supporting the Beeline Britain Team, this is a First attempt; First ever Land’s End to John O’Groats in a straight line.
This strong team of four includes a serving RAF Aircrew, a serving Army Captain and Team GB Paralympian, a professional kayak coach and the youngest British woman to summit Mount Everest. All will bring their own expertises but each will also face their own challenges along the way (Nick has no legs and Tori is 5′ 1” tall!).
The journey will be completed by sea kayaking, hand bike/road bike and a section of mountaineering over the Cairngorms plateaux, one of the most exposed mountain ranges in the UK.
…you’ve been a bloody God send though, couldn’t have asked for a better guy to help us out and I hope you get everything you deserve mate, I really do! deffo see you soon!!!…

It has been a really pleasure having Thomas on board as part of the team this past year. Watching him develop into a professional and knowledgeable outdoor instructor. We would have no problem recommending Thomas to other companies, but do plan on retaining his services for ourselves in the future, and help assist with his development. – Mountain Monkeys: Managing Director – Innes MacDonald.
