Thomas’ professional background started in Plumbing but his passion was always for mountains. From the age of 14 he would be off in the mountains, then soon as he could drive and afford a car he was off to Snowdonia, the Lakes etc to learn to climb! Thomas soon realised that this is what he wanted to do for a living so he used every spare hour and the money from his plumbing job to get out playing in the great outdoors. His passion for the mountains grew into “all things outdoors” and he was soon kayaking, canoeing, biking, winter mountaineering, as well as undertaking expeditions by foot, hands, canoe & bike in the UK. He built up outdoor qualifications in each of these areas as well as volunteering and working part time as an instructor with Duke of Edinburgh Award groups and local Authority, Air Cadets. In 2010 he left the construction lifestyle and took up full time Degree in Outdoor Education at I.M Marsh, LJMU and helped with a Community Outdoor Project in North Wales with the National Trust providing footpaths for the Snowdonia range, while freelancing for companies on the toughest challenges in the UK. This here is when the opportunity to develop myself and become self employed came.
I share a love of the outdoors, a passion for Scotland’s landscapes, Snowdonia’s history, the Peaks culture and the lovable crags in the lakes but most of all we love sharing this with other people – people of all ages, walks of life and outdoor ambitions.
Thomas has tested a lot of kit in the past few years, I will only provide groups with the best kit not just by name but by test, I personally review the best equipment on the market to help you the adventurer enjoy every moment you get outside. As I have tested and provided a lot of the kit to teams and groups on events like the National 3 Peaks Challenge I know I can help provide you with some of the best information.
The best kit means your time on the mountains our safer and more enjoyable when the cold weather comes in or that heavy uncontrollable rain.
